Welcome to History Runner

Welcome to History Runner – the new site and re-brand of the former Almost Home Genealogy Service!

In case you couldn’t tell, I am all about the passion projects. I immerse myself in work that meaningful to me. Work is play and play is work. You will no doubt notice some changes to my services that I hope will allow this business to grow as a story-telling brand.

To me, this re-brand has been long overdue – something I have been ruminating over for years really. Although I have not been actively blogging of late, I HAVE been doing and learning genealogy.

I have taken on more client research projects which are at once all-consuming and interesting and exhausting. . . .and I LOVE it.

I continue to volunteer for Purple Hearts Reunited as a Valor Researcher. Some of the cases I work for PHR are simple and solved in a matter of hours. Others require advanced research strategies and significant time. In any case, I am honored to uncover the stories of these medal recipients and help return the medals to their rightful owners.

I recently discovered and visited another ancestral hometown – in present-day Denmark (then Germany). The discovery of this hometown came after I grew my family tree wide, and not just deep – a research strategy I would recommend for any genealogist, beginner or advanced.

Did I mention our family moved again? Our 5th move in 5 years. In fact, because my new location requires licensure for any business conducted here, I am technically still waiting to offer my services until the government services reopen and that process can be completed.

But I’m still here. Still learning. Still working. Still growing. Thank you for visiting. I hope you like the new website as much as I do.
